Five for Friday!

Here we are back at Friday again.  Hard to believe it got here so fast.  Also hard to believe that November is here.  I think, no I know that the older I get the faster the years fly by.  More on that in a week or two.  In the meantime, It's Five for Friday time and I know I say it often but geesh I'm happy that I came across Kasey and Doodle Bugs Teaching so I had a place to share good stuff with you good readers each week.

So last Sunday I sat down to plan the month of November.  I don't usually plan a month at a time but it seems that the weeks just keep slipping by and so much craziness has been going on lately that I'm not getting everything planned or done like I'd like.  I figured if I jumped into my planner and Pinterest and good books etc, I'd whip up 4 great weeks of learning fun!  So, I started with Pinterest!
Food and Nutrition was our focus this week.  I have no idea why we thought that was a good idea when we did some team planning this summer but it's whats up.

I bought this super cute Food and Nutrition Unit from Jamie White at Play to Learn Preschool!  It was worth every single penny!

This little TpT Science form seems to be my best seller lately!

There are 4 different options included and teachers are loving it!
This is a very detailed drawing of Dorothy our winter white hamster.  The explanation this sweet 3 year old gave me about her scientific drawing was great!
This is another one of my sweet 3s observing Dorothy and writing all about it!  Because that's what scientists do you know!
I designed these as half and full sheets and the half sheets are perfect to tape into Science notebooks if you keep them for your kiddos!
I do believe that I will be starting Science Notebooks with my kinders in the next few weeks.  Stay tuned for more info on that but check out my Science Notebooking Pinterest Board!

Love it when my big punk decided to make dinner!  I know this doesn't look like much but those little grilled cheese sandwiches are really filled with sloppy joe mix.  From Scratch!  I know, the nutrition level isn't really high but he was so excited about making this recipe from Epic Mealtime that I couldn't say no.

And let me just say...DELICIOUS!
I got to go on a field trip with my small punk this week.
As a teacher mom I don't do that often enough because I hate missing school.  It dawned on me before the trip that my small punk isn't so small anymore and as a fifth grader he doesn't have many field trips left.  So, off to Charleston we went!
The tallest church steeple in North America!
The real Rainbow Row!
The hand railing in the Thomas Heyward Washington House that was touched by President George Washington!
We visited the Powder Magazine and learned a little bit about artifacts found during that time period.
Of course we all needed a moment in the gallows!
And of course we had this good fun with his bestie.  All these smart boys are in ALERT!
What a great choice to spend the day with my boy!
Stopped by World Market last night to pick up some fun wine for a friends birthday.  She is actually our Lead Teacher and I volunteered to get her some good wine.  It's been a tough year to say the least so I thought these three bottles were the perfect choice from our crazy crew!  Hoping the wine is good too! :)
I'm planning to add cute take to them with a little explanation!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Relax, watch football or HGTV and think about why you love what you do!

If you want to check out how others spent their week, hop back over to Doodle Bugs Teaching!

  1. I went on a field trip with my son once, and he still talks about it. That was four years ago! Your little scientists look so excited about their observations.
