Five for Friday

Here we go again!  This blogging stuff is pretty darned fun!
First off let's get to the first real live work I posted to TpT today!  I am so darned excited and I know it isn't much but let me tell you what...this stuff takes time!  The file below took me longer to do the cover sheet, credits and final sheet than it did the actual lesson.  So, all that being said, keep that in mind when you go to TpT to purchase from some of the fabulous teacherprenaures out there.  A lot of work goes into the cutsifying and I know you are saying, "Well keep the cute and save me a buck!" but you and I both know that you wouldn't even look at it if it wasn't cute!
Check it out!

3 part cards are a hallmark of Montessori classrooms.  The file includes the picture with the words attached and the picture and words apart.  I print on card stock, hard laminate and cut apart and then the kids match them together.  We do many things with them besides just match the words and cards.  We also use the objects to match which is great for the littles, we play memory with them and the older kiddos will pick a few to write sentences with once they have matched them.
Watch for many more like this to go with all of the Safari Ltd. Toob sets.  I'd love to tell you to buy them from Amazon but if you have a Hobby Lobby or Michaels near you, wait for a coupon and buy it then!

Just found out that this will be a summer read for our staff.  Exited to get started with it.  The Montessori method is often misunderstood and is ever evolving as time passes.  I'm anxious to see this authors take on how we stay true to Dr. Maria Montessori's methods in this modern day and age.

My bestie and I have a bit of an obsession with Reesees Peanut Butter Cups.  So, of course she had to send me this pin.  I'm wondering who will make it first!  Check out my Death by Dessert Pinterest Board...if you dare!

WHAT THE WHAT!?!?!

This is a cool down too!  It's been around 102 for the last few days.  And honey, it's a wet, humid, suffocating heat!  Too hot to even go to the pool!

And then this happened.

It was an accident of sorts.  I applied for a Pets in the Classroom grant and it was awarded but when I got the paper school had started and the pet store was far away and then I lost the paper and blah blah blah.  Any who, I decided to get a pet anyways on my own dime when summer started and at the end of summer we would all be tired of it and it would come to school with me in the fall.  Well, if things continue as they are, Catalina will stay home because my small punk is pretty enamored with her.  Truth be told, so am I.  And how about this for awesome sauce...the Pets in the Classroom people were kind enough to send me a second grant voucher and I am going to get another one for he classroom!  Life is good!

Have a Fabulous weekend and don't forget to hop back over to Doodlebugs Teaching and see whats up around the internet!

    1. Isn't that the best idea?!? Im guessing pet stores benefit because kids go home and beg for pets in their homes!

  3. I love your TPT product! I agree, it always takes me way too long to design a cover and credit page. I got a hamster a few years ago with the grant as well.
